Test your music reading skills in an entertaining and educational way!
Name That Note is a note-spelling quiz suitable for individuals of all ages, offering a challenge regardless of your level of expertise.
Just like learning to identify individual letters of the alphabet, Name That Note assists in learning the names of notes on the staff (stave).
Players can choose from treble clef, bass clef, or both.
There are three levels of difficulty:
- Beginner Level: Answer 10 questions with 6 seconds per question. The note positions are limited to 1 ledger line above and below the staff, with no accidentals or key signatures.
- Intermediate Level: Respond to 20 questions with 3 seconds per question. The note positions are restricted to 2 ledger lines above and below the staff. Accidentals are introduced without key signatures.
- Advanced Level: Solve 30 questions with 2 seconds per question. Note positions can extend up to 4 ledger spaces on either side of the staff. Key signatures are introduced to thoroughly evaluate your note-reading abilities.
Fluent note reading necessitates memorizing positions on a staff, recognizing accidentals, and understanding key signatures. Name That Note utilizes a 'flash card style' presentation, where a question is shown alongside four answer options: one correct and three incorrect choices.
In both continuous mode and practice mode, the questions keep coming, showing a percentage of correctness. When the timer is activated along with continuous mode, the game continues endlessly until an incorrect response is provided. Your final score reflects the total number of consecutive questions answered correctly.
